Time Warner Cable Gets Even Worse

After my previous post on my first experience dealing with Time Warner I didn't think it could get a lot worse. But in an attempt to prove me wrong, fate and TW stepped in to do just that... make things worse.

As I write this I'm still stuck at home waiting for the tech to arrive to install cable internet. They missed the first appointment "and" then this morning missed the second. My time block today was from 9am to 12pm and here it is, 2:16pm and I finally got the call that the guy is 5 minutes away.

I work from home, so them missing the appointments isn't the worst thing in the world, but I do not like feeling trapped here while I wait. When I called in to see why the technician failed to arrive this morning I was told that they called me to let me know about the delay. Here's how that went...

TW: We called you at 11:28 to inform you that the technician would be running late.

Me: What number did you call?

TW: The one you gave us, (he read off the correct cell phone number I gave)

Me: My phone has been on my desk all day and has not rang once.

TW: Well, we called it.

Me: Why wasn't a message left?

TW: There was no answering machine.

Me: It's a cell phone. There's always an answering machine.

TW: I guess it's broken.

Me: Besides the fact that in the 2 years I've had this phone and plan that has never happened, why wouldn't someone just call back?

TW: I don't know sir, I wasn't the one who called.

Considering their track record I think they're lying. Either way I ask what's to be done this time. Well, they give me another $20 credit for a missed appointment and then say someone will call me in 30 minutes. I ask, "And when that call doesn't come, what should I do?" They assure me it will come and guess what? It doesn't. I didn't get a call for another 2 hours.

So now I'm waiting still for this guy who said he was 5 minutes away and (with multi-tasking) it's taken me over 20 minutes to write this post.

Time Warner Cable: If you haven't been screwed by us yet, get ready cause here we come - between the hours of 1 and 5 - maybe!

UPDATE: The technician is here and they need to install software on a computer in order to get the Cable internet working. Not only inconvenient, but completely unnecessary. Comcast didn't do this and there's no technical reason for it. Can it get any worse?

Here's what people had to say...

Hello,
I'm a 38 years old woman, married and with children. I work as accountant, part-time, so I can spend the time to take care of my kids and it goes pretty good like this. During the endless spent in my house i like to do something, in particular that is watching tv on my tv internet . I also adore to look at cartoons
. I don't dislike once in a while to watch soap opera either
I am enough sadisfied with my life and overall about my children. I just hope to remain in good health, so just an normal happy life.
Bye

Wow, just yesterday I had Time Warner come over to do a simple transfer of service from my old house to my new one. They were decent people and came within their 5 hour block. I wasn't paying close enough attention to their installation in the basement of my new house but when they left I found that they had cut two of the three cables (leading to other areas of the house including my OFFICE!!!) and put tamper proof caps on MY splitter! So I called back, tried to explain to someone what was going on and all i got after an hour and a half was "wow thats weird, i dont know why they would do that?" apparently they are coming down on sunday... perhaps they will leave the wiring in my house in tact this time.

Have something to say?
